For Your Lawn
Rake up winter debris and matted turf. Apply Hummert DYNAGREEN WITH DIMENSION fertilizer with pre-emergent control to keep crabgrass in check on established lawns. Use Hummert LONG LASTING on established grass or SEED STARTER on newly seeded lawns.
Test soil for pH and nutrient content
Feed your soil with Nature's Creation hose end attachment sprayer. Spray all of your beds and lawn
For Your Garden Beds
  • Clean up and prepare garden beds. Roto-till when soil is workable and amend with Back To Nature compost, Mushroom Compost, Father Dom's Duck Do and/or other organic material.
  • Start annual flowers and vegetables indoors. Transplant when all danger of frost has passed.
  • Feed daffodils adn tulips with Bone Mea, ZOOM! or Espoma Bulb Tone Fertilizer when plants reach 4 to 5 inches in height.
  • Plant cool-weather vegetables as soon as soil can be worked.
For Your Trees and Shrubs

• Control scale on trees and shrubs with application of dormant oil spray. Do not apply if freezing temperatures are expected or if plants are not dormant.
• Prune Summer and fall blooming shrubs and trees while plants are still dormant. Spring flowering shrubs, such as lilac, forsythia and early season azaleas, should be pruned immediately after flowering, before next years buds have set.
• Fertilize all trees and shrubs after the ground has thawed with Espoma Holly-tone for evergreens or Plant-tone for trees and shrubs, Flower-tone for perennials and Rose-tone for roses. Appling Back to Nature, Mushroom Compost, or Father Dom’s Duck Do at this time as well around the base of all plant material.
